LOGGING ON

I would like to do my training from different computers. Is this possible?
Absolutely. You can use your username and password from as many different computers as you would like. However, in order to run the courses, make sure that the Authorware WebPlayer plugin and Shockwave plugins are installed on each individual machine from which you intend to do your training.

Run the following tests to check if you have the plugins:
Test for Authorware plugin
Test for Shockwave plugin

I accidentally closed the browser instead of clicking on the Logoff button to log off. How soon before I can log on again?
You will be allowed to log in immediately or as soon as you would like.

Will my login session time out if I am inactive for a certain amount of time?
For security reasons, your session will time out after an hour or more of inactivity. Your progress will be tracked even if this occurs while you are in the middle of a course, so simply finish the course. To continue training, all you have to do is log on again.

RUNNING THE COURSES

What system requirements are needed in order to run the courses?
- Browsers 4.x or greater

- 56K or greater Internet Connection
- Screen Resolution: at least 800x600, Color Palette: at least 16-bit
- 8-bit (or greater) sound card, speakers
- Authorware WebPlayer and Shockwave plugins.

Run the following tests to check if you have the plugins:
Test for Authorware plugin
Test for Shockwave plugin

I just downloaded the Authorware WebPlayer plugin but I do not get streaming audio or video when I try to play the courses. How do I fix this?
First, make sure that you have actually installed the plugin and not just downloaded to somewhere on your hard drive. For Internet Explorer users, the installation process is typically taken care of for you automatically when you visit the installation link. For Netscape users, you will need to execute the file that you downloaded from Macromedia.

Although it is the norm for the courses to run immediately after installing Authorware Web Player, for various reasons, you might have to restart the browser in order for the plugin to load properly. In extreme cases, you might have to restart the whole computer.

I am experiencing poor sound quality. How can I fix this?
Due to the compression standards we used in order to deliver audio without taking up too much bandwidth, the audio may appear tinny or echo-y in some cases. We are currently working on new compression standards that will improve this.

However, in the meantime, we do recommend that you mute or lower the volume on your microphone setting in order to cut the feedback loop that enhances the tinny, echo-effect.

Which courses contain the lab simulations?
You can find out this and much more about our courses by visiting the catalog. The catalog contains detailed course descriptions including overview, outline, prerequisites, and descriptions of any labs.
